something as invisible and abstract as the internet's appetite for our personal data? For Mijn Lieve Datamonster, a theater production for young audiences, I created the complete visual world around a playful but ever-growing monster that feeds on the information we share online. The challenge was to translate complex digital concepts into a visual language that children could immediately understand, while still encouraging them to think critically about their online behavior. Using a simple vocabulary of search bars, eyes, data fragments, and digital symbols, I designed a character that acts as a visible representation of the invisible systems behind the internet. &nbsp;The result is a colorful and accessible visual universe that helps children understand what happens to their data online and sparks conversations about technology, privacy, and the digital world around them. This campaign emphasizes how bizarre a wage gap really is. Online videos and GIFs show women in work-related settings getting 15% less coffee, 15% less lunch, 15% less working material or even 15% less presentation time. It’s all as ridiculous as receiving 15% less money for the same job.Update: In 2021, the wage gap had lowered to 14%. Every now and then my parents send me a typical postcard of the mountains back home. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner I’d sit and the postcards hanging over my dinning table stare back at me. That’s when it came to me. As an answer to the lush slopes on the postcards sent by my parents, I decided to create my own alpinist postcards from the low lands. Because where the Netherlands has no scenery at high altitude, it does have many typical foods only the Dutch seem to enjoy, and no one else. Greetings from a flat country is a mountain range which shows the summits of Dutch cuisine. Nothing monumental or grandiose, just the simplest reflection of my new culture, food.
